Metropolitan Detroit Ski & Recreation Council

The Metropolitan Detroit Ski & Snowboard Council (MDSC) has existed since 1955 and is the umbrella organization for twenty six ski clubs located from Saginaw to Toledo Ohio, and from Grand Rapids to Windsor and Sarnia, Canada. Our member clubs are both large and small, are for singles, couples and children, and are for the very young and the very young at heart.

Why travel with a club? Most MDSC Ski Clubs are not-for-profit organizations, and all of them have the advantage of being able to provide their members with volume buying discounts. This means that a Ski Club can offer complete trips that are significantly less expensive than what is available to almost anybody else. The Ski Clubs take care of the details for you, leaving you to enjoy a well-planned, care free and fun trip. Learn what tens of thousands of others have -- traveling with a group costs less, gives you a greater variety of people to ski and socialize with, provides you with the perfect opportunity to make new friends, and makes every trip more FUN!!

Many of our clubs also offer year-round fun and action filled programs which can include canoeing, white water rafting, picnics, hiking, horseback riding, dinner theater outings, golfing, biking, camping, movie premiere nights, in-line skating, and rock climbing to name just a few.

Don't belong to a club? Our trips and activities are open to everybody, members and non-members alike. Feel free to call on any of the trips listed in this site and prepare yourself for the excitement that accompanies a club-operated activity.

Want to belong to a club? Browse through our Club Listings and consider joining one that is active in your geographical area, or meets your age and activity requirements. Most clubs charge very low membership fees, usually between $10 and $50 per year. You'll more than make up for your membership fee with the savings you'll realize on your first club trip! Incidentally, any MDSC club member is invited to participate in any other MDSC club's advertised ski trips and activities for the same prices listed for their members. This makes hundreds of low-cost, value-packed trips available to you each year!
